Leadership Council
Mission: To identify, attract, develop, and utilize leadership.
Goal: Identify and develop potential leaders.
Strategy: Enhance leadership skills via the Leadership Greater Topeka (LGT) program.
Strategy: Offer opportunity for LGT program alumni and Chamber members to attend "build your leadership skills" program.
Goal: Recognize the outstanding Chamber Member Firm and Chamber Volunteer.
Strategy: Identify via a nomination form mailed to membership, candidates for these awards.
- Goal: Create an image of Topeka as an outstanding city for young professionals to live, work, and play.
Strategy: Identify and encourage involvement in the community by young professionals, ages 20-40, who work for Chamber member firms.
Action Plan:
Sponsor quarterly Fast Forward networking events.
Goal: Provide educational opportunities for members to learn new business techniques and trends.
Strategy: Provide seminars and information forums on issues of interest to our membership.
Goal: Encourage retention of new senior management executives in Chamber member firms.
Strategy: Improve community orientation for new senior management executives.
Action Plan:
- Partner with Society of Human Resources Managers.
- Invite new senior level executives and new Washburn faculty to participate in an "Executive Leadership" Day which would include opportunity to meet community leaders and learn about community issues.
- Ensure that newcomer information is shared.
