Marketing Council
Mission: To develop strategies and tools to promote positive image of Topeka's business climate and quality of life within Topeka and across the country.
Goal: Create a positive image of Greater Topeka's Business Climate.
Strategy: Maintain the Chamber's website to insure current information about the Greater Topeka area is readily available.
Action Plan:
- Update website design and content.
Strategy: Provide Chamber members access to "Jobs In Topeka" information.
Strategy: Promote Chamber members among themselves and throughout community.
Action Plan:
- Business Expo.
- Buy from Chamber Members Campaign.
- Image Campaign.
- Annual Meeting.
Strategy: Promote the successes within the Topeka Business Community.
Action Plan:
- Prepare at least two "Report to the Taxpayer" documents.
Strategy: Convey actions and progress of the Chamber and GO Topeka.
Strategy: Demonstrate that Topeka's Cost of Living is lower than the national average and is a good "buy" for our citizens and potential newcomers.
Action Plan:
- Participate in the ACCRA cost of living study in January and July.
Goal: Promote the Chamber of Commerce within the Topeka Community via Ambassadors.
Strategy: Provide ribbon cutting and groundbreaking ceremonies for area businesses.
Strategy: Assist with and participate in community and Chamber events.
Goal: Encourage media participation in marketing Topeka.
Strategy: Send media releases and alerts about Chamber events.
Action Plan:
- Implement Topeka Publicity Network.
- Host regional and national reporters for tours of Topeka businesses.
Strategy: Respond to media requests for information and stories.
Goal: Assist in promoting community events, activities, and programs.
Strategy: Support promotional efforts of community assets.
Action Plan:
- Maintain Community Calendar.
Goal: Inform membership of Chamber actions, projects, and other business issues.
Strategy: Publish a monthly newsletter targeted to membership.
Goal: Provide information about Topeka to potential newcomers.
Strategy: Continue to increase information content of "overrun" section of Membership Directory.
Strategy: Encourage Chamber member firms to use the Chamber's newcomer packet for new employees.
Goal: Create an image of Topeka as an outstanding city-a safe, quality place to live, work, worship, raise children, and have fun.
Strategy: Facilitate discussion and dialogue about how to improve Topeka's image among Topeka and Shawnee County citizens and those outside the community.
